Under the direction of Susan Bialek, the Cappella Festiva Treble Choir provides an exceptional artistic opportunity for young singers (boys and girls) of the Hudson Valley through education in vocal training, musicianship skills, and the exploration of challenging, diverse repertoire for treble voices, ages ten to sixteen. This ensemble collaborates with the Cappella Festiva Adult Chamber Choir and orchestra on a yearly basis. Acceptance into the Treble Choir is through a choral interview. The fee is $175 per semester (includes music). Financial aid forms are available upon request. Rehearsals will be held at Vassar College in the Chapel Choir Room on Mondays from 5:45-7:15 p.m.
Choral Interviews:
A choral interview is a relaxed, friendly audition in which the director will talk to the singer and listen to him/her sing a short song. "Happy Birthday" or "My country tis of thee" are appropriate pieces to sing. We are looking for participants who love to sing, who have good pitch and rhythm, and who will be committed and focused during rehearsals.
Choral interviews for the Cappella Festiva Treble Choir will be held in January 2008 by appointment, prior to the start of rehearsals. We invite you to call (845) 229-6295 or send an email to info@cappellafestiva.com to arrange a choral interview.
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals are once per week on Mondays beginning January 14, 2008 from 5:45-7:15 p.m. at Vassar College.
